Design for Change Students

Minnah and Daniel are both students who are part of Design for Change

Minnah is a 10th grader in Raleigh, NC, who goes to Leesville High School. She has been working with Design for Change since 5th grade but did her largest projects as an 8th grader. One of her projects involved Syrian refugees and where her team completely cleaned, found, paid for, and furnished an apartment for a refugee family moving to NC. She also raised over $2500 for the family to acquire a transportation vehicle. Her next project was the George Taylor Remembrance Project. George Taylor was a man who was lynched in the early 1900s in her county. In order to remember the man, her team transcribed a speech, visited the land of the lynching, collected soil, shared stores, and donated to the soil bank in Maryland.
