Megan Parry
I’m the Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Embark where I support teachers to implement and fully embody our design principles of being embedded, integrated, and learner centered. I’m excited to bring the skills and experiences I’ve developed over my career working in innovative education spaces as a teacher, program designer, coach, and leader; much of it focused on the practice of project based learning (PBL). Most recently that includes designing and delivering training to teachers and school leaders in PBL at PBLWorks, a national nonprofit. I also worked at 3 different high schools in the New Tech Network, a nonprofit school re-design partner which emphasizes PBL. I co-taught integrated courses, developed college and career readiness programs, and instituted digital portfolios and yearlong independent inquiry projects.
I also have a background in education policy and partnership development, focusing on college and career readiness. In this realm I’ve worked at the state level to align k-12 and higher education policy, managed a statewide evaluation of high school reform initiatives and supported the development of an innovative dual enrollment program for the University of Texas at Austin.
I have a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Rochester (NY), a Master of Public Affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at UT Austin, and a Colorado principal license through coursework at University of Colorado - Denver
